Our Giving Tuesday Report
From Small Business Saturday through the week of Giving Tuesday, we asked Good Work Austin restaurants and local diners to join us in raising money to support great causes here in Central Texas — including our GWA Community Kitchen program.
With 26 restaurants involved in our fundraising efforts, and private contributions from generous individuals, we are proud to report that together we raised more than $11,000 for Good Work Austin and I Live Here I Give Here.
With these funds, GWA’s Community Kitchen program will feed families in Austin this holiday season and beyond, while supporting small businesses during this challenging time.
To date, Good Work Austin restaurants have distributed over 2 million meals to those in need, keeping over $10 million here in our local economy, and ensuring that local restaurants can stay in business. We have partnered with the City of Austin, Travis County, and dozens of other non-profits to advance our mission. We even worked with World Central Kitchen to provide 100,000 meals during the winter storm.
We couldn’t do this important work without the support of our Good Work Austin member restaurants and, of course, the diners that support our community’s local businesses.
